As the world paused to celebrate International Women's Day, the female staff of NRA beautifully dressed in their African prints, took their seats in a room decorated with purple, silver and white balloons and streamers to commemorate the day, and celebrate their hard work and dedication towards work.
On 8 March every year, International Women's Day is celebrated to recognize women's achievements globally and their contributions to society. It is also celebrated to raise awareness about gender equality, and grants women the opportunity to reflect on their progress.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2024 was #InspireInclusion. Inspire inclusion simply talks about actively promoting an environment where women are valued, respected, and given equal opportunities in all aspects. It involves creating spaces where women feel empowered to contribute their talents and perspectives without facing discrimination.
As part of the celebrations at NRA, a young entrepreneur was invited to lead a presentation on the blend of work and entrepreneurship. He explained how women can use their talents to generate money aside the salaries they receive since financial freedom empowers and provides opportunities for women to add more value to themselves.
He further suggested that a group of ladies could consider coming up with a collective investment in the event that there is no readily available capital to start up a business which requires a huge sum as capital. There were a lot of enlightening discussions and contributions following the presentation.
The ladies enjoyed an engaging time together with some entertaining games among themselves after the discussions came to an end.
