As part of a familiarization tour of agencies under the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology, the newly appointed sector Minister, Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, visited the NRA on Friday, 14 February 2025.
The purpose of the Minister’s visit was to gain a deeper understanding of the Authority’s operations and, more importantly, to assess the challenges faced by the institution.
The visit was of great significance as it provided an opportunity for direct interactions between the Minister and NRA’s management and staff. During the engagement, the Minister was briefed on the Authority’s mandates, regulatory activities, and strategic direction. The discussions also highlighted key operational challenges and areas where government support is crucial for strengthening the NRA’s capacity.
This visit reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting its agencies in fulfilling their mandates effectively. The NRA remains dedicated to its mission of ensuring nuclear and radiological safety and security in Ghana, and the Minister’s visit marked an important step in fostering stronger collaboration between the Authority and its supervising Ministry.
